The Traditional File Manager App Has Not Adapted To Today’s World

The ability to locate and manage your files when you need them is an essential skill in our era of data continuity. Long gone are the days when all your files were simply stored on your local hard drive. Today we work on multiple devices – laptops, tablets, smart phones and secondary computers. Our files are no longer confined to our local hard drives. Our files could be anywhere. We also store our stuff on servers and network attached storage drives. How do we find and manage networked drives when we often work remote and are not connected to the network?

The traditional file manager app involves an ability to navigate and organize files on a local drive and mapped networked drives. I grab a folder from my public cloud (on a server owned by Google), move it to my network attached storage (a specialized server that I own) then rename it.
